I shot my first music festival in 2019 after requesting a media pass to Ottawa Bluesfest on behalf of my University's newspaper. I took way too many photos (a rite of passage for anyone beginning in photography), but still, among those 3000 shots, I realized how beautiful images can evoke emotions and bring people together. That became my mission.
Since then, I've gained 5 years of experience in digital marketing. I specialize in creating content with storytelling to cultivate a sense of community. To me, documentation is about more than pressing a button. I use timing and thoughtful framing choices to give attendees a memory of their experience and keep them coming back for more.
After learning filmmaking, I integrated my knowledge in journalism to investigate stories overlooked by mainstream media. My films use humour to criticize and raise awareness of social issues, particularly within internet culture and media studies.
I'm driven by a desire to build community and amplify quieted voices.
